The Community School Director is a full-time position designed to lead the development and ongoing maintenance of a community school in the Sausalito Marin City School District. The Community School Director will ensure the establishment of a community school that will bring together and align essential resources to support students and their families in a safe, healthy, and culturally relevant environment, advancing dynamic community partnerships aligned with our Desegregation Settlement Agreement, Comprehensive Education Plan, Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Board goals. This position primarily centers on and emanates from student needand is designed to connect children and families to key services and resources that will foster and ensure studentsuccess. “Research and studies have found that community schools, when run well, lead to better attendance, fewer discipline problems and chronic absences, improved school cultures and better communication with families and caregivers. “ * The Community School Director will report directly to the Co-Principals and Superintendent (for identified different aspects of job) and be evaluated annually based on a jointly defined work plan focusing on the activities outlined in the essential duties below and created with School Site Principals and Parent Engagement Groups. The Community School Director will also recruit , hire, and supervise parent support position(s). The Community School Director will collaborate with school site staff and community partners to provide essential services to students and families in the District, and will: Align with the “Four Pillars” that must guide community schools: 1) Integrated Student Supports 2)Family and Community Engagement 3)Collaborative Leadership Practices for Students and Edudcators 4)Extended Learning Time and Opportunities
