Job Summary

Job Summary

Under Immediate supervision, performs duties of above average difficulty assisting in the operation of a class, or similar learning situations for English Language Learners (ELL) students. May perform a variety of clerical, data entry and supportive duties; may provide services to students in a language other than English; performs related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Successfully passing the District’s Instructional Assistant/Student Assistant exam (U.S. AA Degree or higher, verified with Transcripts reflecting degree, waives EXAM) PLEASE NOTE: If you have a foreign degree, you will have to take Language and Written portion of the exam to be considered. • Graduation from high school or equivalent • Current resume for current substitutes and employees as well as outside applicants. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with adults and children; perform a variety of above-average, complex tasks; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; prepare reports as required; use good grammar. • Education requirement of graduation from high school or equivalent, preferably supplemented by two years’ college course work in child care specialization or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
