About the Employer

The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Proof of NCLB/ESSA Compliance: 48 college units, AA degree or higher, or passing score on NCLB/ESSA exam. (qualified candidates will be scheduled for NCLB/ESSA exam if no proof is attached) 4. OPTIONAL: Three current letters of recommendation (DATED & SIGNED WITHIN THE LAST 18 MONTHS) UPON HIRE, the candidate selected for this position will be required to present: 1) TB Clearance 2) Original High School/GED or official High School transcripts 5) Official College Transcripts (if applicable)

Minimum Requirements: EDUCATION: High school diploma or recognized equivalent. AA degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: Over one year of paid or volunteer experience performing similar work with school-age children, i.e. instructional aide, teacher assistant, babysitting, child care (other than family). Experience as an instructional aide or paraprofessional in an educational setting preferred. SKILLS: Must be No Child Left Behind compliant through locally developed assessment or have 48 college units. Candidates who meet MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, but lack NCLB certification will be scheduled for an exam.
