This is the chief leadership position of a single campus school district with a long tradition of excellence. As Superintendent/principal this position works in close conjunction with the governing board as a team member, and is responsible for developing the vision, goals and objectives of the district and establishing a strong collaborative relationship with staff leaders, parents and community members.

The Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Union Elementary School District (Los Angeles County) serves Kindergarten through 8th grade students from the communities of Lake Hughes, Elizabeth Lake and Green Valley, as well as parts of Leona Valley and Pine Canyon. The district’s school is located between the communities of Elizabeth Lake and Lake Hughes on the southern flank of the Portal Ridge at an elevation of 3,300 feet. The school and district office enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding Sierra Pelona and San Gabriel Mountains. In the summer the district enjoys milder weather than the rest of the Antelope Valley. In the winter the district receives some snowfall, and several days of school closure are expected due to inclement weather.
