The Academic Coach is responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. Academic Coaches are essential to maintaining our low student-teacher ratio and ensuring all students get the individualized attention requisite for success. This is an in-person position, and will not be able to work remote/virtual. Duties include: - Assist with the instruction and supervision of students who may have learning differences - Assist with tutorial activities working with an individual or group of students who may have learning differences - Monitor student progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request - May administer and evaluate testing of students for general placement - May monitor classroom/instruct in temporary absence of teacher - Establish rapport and meaningful relationships with referred students to assist in improving their behavior, educational performance, and social relationships - Perform clerical support duties including typing, completing documentation To APPLY: https://jobs.lever.co/hightechhigh/3a18fc2c-8132-4f3d-b0f8-28911b9fbd22

Job Description - Academic Coaches work under the direct supervision of a credentialed Ed. Specialist (Special Education Teacher). Coach would be responsible for 1 student with special needs and learning differences who is fully included in the general education setting. Coach would work within the classroom to ensure the student has access to the general education curriculum.
Qualifications - Minimum of 60+ College Credits. Preference will be shown to applicants who have teaching, child development, and/or special education experience. Experience with students with Autism preferred, however not necessary. Strong applicants will have a basic understanding of High Tech High Charter Schools and their design principles, an understanding of People First Language, and a passion for inclusion. Compensation- Coaches are hourly employees, starting at $15 dollars an hour. Coach will work 30 - 38 hours a week and follow the school hours and calendar. Coaching jobs at our schools often lead to full time teaching positions or coveted paid internships. There are no health benefits offered with the coaching position; intern positions do have health benefits.
