BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, assist the Warehouse Supervisor in a District warehouse or operate a storeroom independently for Food Services or Maintenance functions; receive, inspect, store, issue and deliver materials, supplies and equipment; train and provide work direction to assigned staff.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
The Senior Warehouse Worker classification performs various warehouse activities, services in a lead capacity, and operates a storeroom or warehouse independently with little work directions. The Warehouse Worker classification performs a variety of general warehouse functions at an assigned District location including receiving, inspecting, processing, and issuing warehouse stock.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
The duties listed below are the essential duties of the class. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position, if the work is similar in course and scope to this class concept.
- Locate and prepare materials, equipment and supplies for delivery; issue and deliver items to designed sites as required.
- Receive, unload and store materials, equipment and supplies; inspect incoming stock for conformance with purchase orders; note and report discrepancies as required.
- Perform a variety of warehousing and store keeping functions including filling requisitions, stocking, shelving, and checking materials and supplies.
- Train and provide work directions and guidance to assigned staff.
- Maintain a perpetual inventory and participate in annual and semi-annual inventories as required.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of supplies and materials; report supply needs or order supplies as assigned.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers obtain bids or reconcile discrepancies to place or check on order or shipments as needed; communicate with District personnel and outside agencies to exchange information, coordinate activities and resolve issues or concerns related to purchase orders, deliveries, inventory, and assigned activities.
- Prepare and maintain various records and reports related to warehouse and store keeping operations and inventory.
- Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklift, pallet jacks and dollies; utilize a two-way radio; operate a variety of office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software.
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
INITIAL/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• Graduation from high school or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in a warehouse environment.
Licenses and Requirements:
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• Valid Forklift certification.
