California is making great strides to ensure equity and inclusion for each and every student in the state. Under the California Budget Act of 2020, the California Dyslexia Initiative (CDI) was created to address literacy inequities and build capacity across the state in how schools and districts can address Dyslexia and other reading difficulties. If you are a person who has expertise in research-based reading instruction and treating Dyslexia and other learning issues, you believe all children can learn to read, and you have a social justice mindset and want to empower teachers and leaders with a mission to improve reading, we want you to join our team. This recruitment is to fill a grant funded position supporting such grants as the California Dyslexia Initiative. Expertise in the science of teaching reading required. Knowledge and experience in special education and/or supporting struggling readers and students with dyslexia desired. Advanced training in reading/language arts or dyslexia required; Specialist Instruction Credential in Reading and Language Arts preferred. In compliance with the current California Department of Public Health Order, proof of vaccination or weekly COVID-19 testing is a requirement of employment at Sacramento County Office of Education.
