Requirements / Qualifications
Pursuant to the State Public Health Officer Order of August 11, 2021 affecting all tk-12 public and private school employees, all Camino Union Elementary School District employees and substitutes are required to either provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. The Board of Trustees of the Camino Union Elementary School District is seeking a collaborative leader who can build on the district’s strengths and vision for the future. Individuals with a strong educational leadership background and excellent communication skills are invited to apply for the position of Camino Union Elementary School District Superintendent/Principal. The Board of Trustees seeks highly qualified applicants who would like to join a school that has a small community atmosphere among families and staff. Purpose Statement: The superintendent serves as executive officer of the Board of Trustees; assists in the development of educational philosophy and determination of District policies; provides overall educational leadership for the District in assessing needs, developing goals and objectives, setting priorities, securing and deploying resources, evaluating programs; focuses attention on the major responsibility of the Camino Union School District -- promoting and encouraging maximum educational opportunities for District students. The principal serves as the educational leader and chief executive of Camino K-8 schools, including the Camino Polytechnic Charter School; is responsible for direction of the instructional programs, operation of the schools, participates in staff activities, student activities, and community leadership.
Camino Union Elementary School District Superintendent/Principal Search Brochure Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited post-secondary institution is required. - Master’s degree desirable. - At least five years of teaching experience, with a preferred focus in grades K-8. - Valid teaching credential, including all courses necessary to meet credential requirement. - Valid California administrative credential. - Administrative and site management experience required.
