The Poway Unified School District is looking for Program Specialist - Special Education candidates who have knowledge in all areas of elementary and secondary curriculum, and recent training and experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
This is an eligibility pool for the 2022-2023 school year - the Special Education department may contact applicants directly for interviews as positions become available. Applicants must submit all required documents to be considered, including a valid teaching credential. QUALIFICATIONS: Has knowledge of all areas of elementary and secondary curriculum and recent training and experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs. Has knowledge of curriculum and recent training and experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs. Demonstrates leadership and strong organizational skills. Demonstrates an ability to develop, direct, and coordinate programs. Relates well with administrators, teachers, and parents. Has knowledge concerning appropriate programming for students in all areas of special education with special expertise in at least one area. Has current knowledge and expertise in special education laws and procedures. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS REQUIRED: Must have a valid California Special Education credential, Clinical Services Credential or Pupil Services Credential. Must have a master’s degree to apply. Must have completed at least five years of successful classroom teaching or related work in the field of special education. Advanced training and related experience in the education of individuals with exceptional needs. Administrative credential preferred.
