Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations to perform major and minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment and small gas and diesel engines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Repairs, modifies and overhauls grounds maintenance equipment. 2. Maintains a preventive maintenance program. 3. Maintains records equipment and small gas/diesel engines and equipment throughout the District. 4. Maintains inventory of shop supplies and equipment. 5. Wears all safety gear provided and required by the District. 6. Assists in overhauling big pieces of equipment. 7. Paints grounds equipment as needed. 8. Assists in the selection of all grounds equipment parts. 9. Responsible for all tools assigned to grounds shop. 10. Performs related duties as required. 11. Responsible for user maintenance of equipment. 12. Performs tasks safely and provides training and supervision relative to the proper use of tools and equipment and the repair and maintenance of equipment. 13. When not engaged in the above activities may assist as required in a variety of maintenance work throughout the district involving heavy manual labor and semi-skilled tasks.

Experience and Education:
High School graduate. Three years experience in grounds equipment and small engine repair. One year experience in automotive repair. Possess a working knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines (2) and (4) cycle engines; any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
