The San Diego County Office of Education is currently recruiting to fill one (1) full-time Audiologist position at the East County Regional Educational Center (ECREC) for the Student Services and Programs, East Co SELPA The Audiologist completes hearing evaluations and related reports; performs APD assessments and related accommodations for instruction; assists students with hearing impairments with amplification and auditory skills; consults with staff regarding auditory skills, issues, and instructional accommodations and methods. The Audiologist will serve infant children through young adults; from birth to age 22. The East County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is composed of 11 local education agencies (LEA) located in the southeast quarter of San Diego County, going east to the Imperial County line and south to our border with Mexico.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires possession of, or eligibility for, a valid CA Clinical or Rehabilitative Services - Audiology credential*; or valid CA Speech-Language Pathology Services credential with added Audiology authorization; and a valid California Driver License. Doctoral degree in Audiology preferred. *Applications will be considered for those individuals who are eligible for one of the required credentials. A stipend of $4,500, paid out after three (3) years of consecutive full-time service, shall be paid to unit members hired on or after July 1, 2018, who hold state certification and are employed as Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Visually-Impaired. The stipend will be paid out at the completion of the third instructional year.
