Job Summary
The Educational Audiologist will be part of an interdisciplinary team that assists in providing a meaningful education program designed to meet each student’s individual needs. RCOE receives referrals from outside Districts and provides audiological assessments and interpretations, Deaf Hard of Hearing Itinerant and Specialized Academic Classes appropriate for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students. This position is responsible for conducting audiological assessments and interpretations and hearing assistive technology recommendations to the IEP team. This professional will participate as a member of a dynamic educational team and will conduct audiological assessments of various types which may include CAPD assessments, and provide recommendations for hearing assistive technology, supports and accommodations. The Educational Audiologist will work with IEP team members in the instruction and management of individual and classroom amplification and assistive listening devices. The Educational Audiologist will assist in determining the appropriate educational program; will act as a liaison with community agencies; and monitor condition of equipment. The position is under the general supervision of the program administrator and Special Education Director. The position may supervise instructional aids and other relevant staff as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Kind and type of experience related to the above duties will be considered when making the hiring decision. EDUCATION: Master’s Degree from an accredited institution. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Clinical Rehabilitative Services or Credential authorizing audiology (If no fully credentialed person is available, the position may be filled by an emergency credentialed person based upon a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of sixty (60) semester units of audiology coursework, including clinical practice) • An Audiology License issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board is preferred These documents are required upon hire: Valid CA Driver's License, physical (if required), proof of required education, TB, Fingerprint clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required as per Public Health Order. RCOE will engage in an interactive process for new hires with valid medical or religious exemption requests as related to the COVID-19 vaccination.
