POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Electrician position in our Maintenance and Operations department. The Electrician, under immediate supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations, using considerable journey level skills, performs skilled electrical work in the repair, installation and alteration of electrical equipment and wiring systems. For examples of duties, please refer to the Job Description. This career opportunity is an 8 hours/day, 12-month position with working hours expected to be from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and comes with paid holidays, sick leave and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive package of health benefits, dental, vision and life insurance. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Experience: Any combination equivalent to three (3) years of experience as an electrician. Knowledge of: Materials, equipment and methods used in electrical installation and repair work; the National Electrical Code, the Electrical Safety orders for the Industrial Accident Commission and local electrical ordinances; principles of electrical theory. Licenses/Other: * Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License * Insurability to drive a District vehicle as part of the District’s Pull Notice program is required. This will require submitting a Driver's Record that can be obtained from the DMV (in person or online) and drug testing which will require a clinic order to be given after hiring.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The recruitment process may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill future vacancies. Dates of Exams and Interviews The date(s) of any exams and interviews will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
