The Mt. We have exciting opportunities for two (2) English Instructor positions located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks English Instructors to teach and develop courses in English. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty members are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus classes and online classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition (attach transcripts); OR 2. A Bachelor's in any of the above AND A Master's in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with a specialization in reading, creative writing or journalism (attach transcripts); OR 3. The equivalent; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Experience with culturally validating, equitable, and inclusive teaching practices. 2. Demonstrated understanding of and familiarity with AB 705 and Guided Pathways initiatives. 3. Ability to teach a variety of Online courses using Canvas (Online teaching certification desired). 4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse environment that encourages positive race and gender-consciousness and embraces human difference. 5. English composition generalist who has experience applying just-in-time remediation and support in the classroom environment. 6. Demonstrated commitment to remain current and lead departments in diverse teaching methods and learning styles as applied to teaching composition.
