$20.09 - $25.62 per hour. Salary based on education and experience; Candidates with a valid CA Teacher Permit are placed on a higher pay scale (additional 5%). Benefits include paid sick leave, holiday pay.
Length of Work Year
40 hours per week; 12 months year. Hours vary depending on location. Must be available to work between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday and during school break weeks. Programs are open year-round.

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: • 12 core college semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required. Valid CA Associate Teacher Permit preferred. • 1-3 years of experience working with children ages 2-5 years old in an early childhood education or preschool setting. • Working knowledge or the ability to learn District adopted software: Google suite software, Google Classroom, Google Hangout and/or Zoom, etc. • Must be comfortable wearing a face covering and/or face shield. • CPR and First Aid Certified • Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam. • Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: • Assist in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children. • Knowledge of High/Scope, Developmentally Appropriate Practices, Preschool Learning Foundations, Desired Results Developmental Profile, CLASS, QRIS and/or ECERS preferred. • Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction and practicing good health habits. • Assist Teachers in ensuring all COVID health and safety protocols are implemented and practiced in the classroom as outlined by SCUSD and FCE. • Participate in creating exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences. • Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player. • Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development. • Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community and each other. • Additional hours may be available during break weeks and summer. • Hours, schedules and locations are subject to change when school is not in session based on the needs of the program.
