Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy for School Social Worker for Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS). Under general direction, the School Social Workers plan, coordinate, organize, and manage the implementation of social-emotional learning and mental health programs aligned with the San Diego County Office mission, goals, and objectives for student learning. The location of the assignments is: -North Region SDCOE's Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) provide a fully accredited educational program for school-age youth who are either wards of the court or have been referred by social services, probation, or one of the 42 school districts in San Diego County. Services are provided to students who are incarcerated, pregnant or parenting, in foster care, expelled, chronically truant, in drug treatment centers and group homes for neglected or abused children, and experiencing homelessness. JCCS serves 3,150 students per year at more than 24 sites across the county of San Diego. Applicants must be able to travel to school or community sites when necessary. Please note this is a grant-funded position through California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) with active grant period from 7/01/2021 to 09/30/2022.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Successful experience that demonstrates the ability to perform essential functions of the position
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college/university
- Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a specialization in School Social Work as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing; or equivalent document.
- Valid California Driver License
- Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California preferred.
- CPR certification certified by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
