Job Summary
The Behavioral Interventionist works closely with Beacon multidisciplinary team to assist students to eliminate or replace disruptive, harmful or negative behaviors exhibited by the students to which they are assigned and replace them with positive actions. Under the administrative direction of the Manager of Behavior Services, Special Education Teacher and the Lead Behavioral Interventionist, Behavior Interventionist supports academic instruction, and communicates with school personnel concerning the needs of special education students aged five to 22 years. As a substitute teacher this employee is responsible for caring out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the current duties as outlined in laws and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Must have a Substitute Teaching Permit.
- Experience in classroom and/or behavior management is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed under normal office or classroom conditions, but there are some minimal environmental risks or disagreeable conditions associated with the work. Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of a position with or without reasonable accommodation and without being a danger to themselves or others. Must meet all Pro-ACT standards and safety requirements (light duty is not available).
