Job Summary

Position Description: The job of Health Services Technician (LVN) monitors the health and welfare of students, documenting and maintaining student health information required by federal/state/local agencies, and providing appropriate care and/or referral for the medically fragile and/or injured student as required. Clerical duties will include all necessary forms and reports relating to the District Medi-Cal Billing Program. The Health Services Technician (LVN) will also assist the OGSD District School Nurse with state-mandated student screening, data collection and communication with parents and other health professionals. Essential Job Functions: • Administer first aid, medication and specialized treatment for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and/or injured children. • Assists nurse, trainer, and other school personnel for the purpose of providing specialized treatments, monitoring medical treatments and/or screening on multiple school sites. • Cleans work areas such as health office, sinks, counters and cots for the purpose of maintaining a clean/sanitary environment. • Maintains health care plans, medical emergency cards, health records such as mandated screening for the purpose of providing information required by legal and professional health standards. • Performs the duties prescribed in an IEP. • Performs home visits and/or hospital visits under the direction of the OGSD School Nurse for the purpose of verifying status of student. • Prepares documentation such as daily health logs, mandated monthly status reports and accident reports for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information and provides specialized health care and Targeted Case Management in coordination with the OGSD School District Nurse. • Provides information on medical treatments on various health subjects such as lice, ringworm, drug prevention and personal hygiene. • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of
