Position available: Eighth grade Mathematics/Geometry About Robert Frost Middle School: Frost Middle school is a comprehensive middle school currently serving 1590 students in grades six through eight. In addition to our core program, along with our School for Advanced Studies, we have a STEAM Magnet, and a Gifted Music Conservatory Magnet. Approximately 28% of the students are enrolled in the magnet and 37% of the total student population are gifted; with 54% Hispanic, 3% African American, 30% White, 7% Asian or Pacific Islander; 56% are eligible for Title 1; 2% English Learners; and 10% are Students with Disabilities. We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to culturally relevant and responsive education and an interest in helping us grow a college-going culture. Desirable Qualifications: • Single Subject Mathematics credential • Strongly grounded in the California Content Standards. • Demonstrated experience with differentiated instruction for all students, including Accelerated and Highly Accelerated Math pathways, Students with Disabilities, ELD and GATE. • A growth mindset as it pertains to personal & professional learning and student achievement. • A belief that parents are our partners in all that we do. • Ability to collaborate with fellow teachers. • Excited about engaging our community through parent workshops, awards nights, and more. • Commitment to using and leveraging educational technology with students. • An interest in connecting classroom teaching and learning to real world applications. • Committed to using Schoology as the primary platform for communicating progress, grades, and implementing personalized learning. • Available to take on leadership roles outside of the classroom through committees, councils, and coordinator ships.
