Training and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this classification would typically be acquired through graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate; previous experience in cleaning and operating similar equipment is highly desirable, or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning various types of surfaces and furniture. Safety related to cleaning methods, practices, procedures and equipment. Ability to: Perform heavy manual labor. Work without immediate supervision. Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies and equipment. Operate custodial equipment and tools. Maintain work schedules in performing tasks. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
