Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly qualified financial professionals with school district and/non-profit experience for the Business Services Consultant position. Under general direction, the Business Services Consultant conducts fiscal monitoring, analysis and consultation for school districts and/or non-profit agencies to ensure their financial solvency and compliance with federal, state and local fiscal mandates. The ideal candidate will use their strong financial management expertise, coupled with their customer-oriented approach, to understand, interpret, and apply legislation in the areas of public financial management for school districts within Los Angeles County. We are seeking accomplished professionals to provide consulting, planning and/or oversight on fiscal services and revenue issues to staff, school districts, community college districts Head Start and other agencies. This individual may also advise administrators on changes needed to comply with federal, state and local requirements and to avoid solvency problems.
Requires 4 years of professional level experience analyzing business and financial accounting systems and a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting or finance from an accredited institution.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Four years of experience in business or financial analysis involving budgeting, financial forecasting and financial trend analysis.
