Pacific Autism Center for Education is looking for an Instructional Aide to work one-on-one with students ages 6-22 with Autism in our Santa Clara school location.

The ideal applicant will be a professional and mature, focused individual who can be a positive role model to our students.
Experience: Always a plus, but not required. What is required is the desire and commitment to serving our students.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. A TB certification or test must be performed by a certified physician. A clean DMV report. A clean fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice. Must be willing to assist students with toileting needs.
Hours: Part-Time (30 hours) 9:00 am -3:00 pm

The Instructional Aide-Special Needs, works closely with an inter-disciplinary team comprised of a SPED Teacher, SLP, OT and certified behaviorist who are all working exclusively with the K-12 school classroom. Our Special Education Teachers provide exceptional support in a mostly 1:1 environment.
Essential Job Functions:
• Responsible for encouraging, engaging and supporting students in the classroom, playground and community.
• Assist students in the development and maintenance of appropriate social behaviors, as well as interactions with others.
• Recording data and assisting in implementing student behavior and support plans.
Requirements:
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Strong written and verbal communication
- Offer Contingencies: Ability to clear DOJ/FBI fingerprinting, complete TB test
Desired Skills:
• Desire to work in special education environment
• Experience in working with students with Autism or similar disabilities is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal skills.
• Must maintain flexibility and be able to remain calm in intermittent, stressful situations.
