If granted an interview, the candidate would be required to provide a six to eight minute video, Zoom recording or YouTube link of the candidate teaching a lesson to students or providing professional development to teachers. In lieu of a You Tube video, the candidate may instead conduct a six to eight minute live "mock" lesson or live "mock" professional development session to the interview panel. Complete applications and You Tube video submissions will be due to Jennifer Sachs, sachsj@mdusd.org by 4:30 pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. All applications and documents must be submitted online via Edjoin, except for the six to eight minute video, Zoom recording, or YouTube link.

Comments and Other Information
Per the MDEA contract, all incumbent Coach/Specialist or Teachers on Special Assignment (TSA) must re-apply for assignment at the end of their 3-year eligibility term.
Per article 13.7, candidates, if selected, will be placed on the District's TSA Eligibility list. The list shall be created annually. Eligible TSA's shall remain on the list for three years. The Coach/Specialist or Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) positions may cover a variety of content areas including, but not limited to secondary literacy, educational technology, emerging bilingual students, AVID and the integration of literacy into history and social studies. High levels of proficiency utilizing technology desired. Google Suite tools are required as well as excellent written and communication skills.
A coach should have an understanding of content standards, effective instructional practices, assessment, levels of academic rigor and knowledge of elementary, middle, and/or high school level student learning. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people are essential. The coach needs to have the ability to demonstrate instructional leadership, conduct effective educational technology and literacy teacher training, provide constructive feedback and facilitate data-driven and equity focused conversations.
Coach positions do NOT provide instruction or services to students.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: No individual shall be permitted to begin employment until the Department of Justice has ascertained that the individual has not been convicted of a sex offense as defined by Education Code section 44010, a controlled substance offense as defined Education Code section 44011, or a serious or violent felony as defined in Penal Code sections 667.5(c) & 1192.7(c).
