Requirements / Qualifications
Pursuant to the State Public Health Officer Order of August 11, 2021 affecting all tk-12 public and private school employees, all El Dorado County Office of Education employees and substitutes are required to either provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. EDCOE Special Services provides speech and language services for 14 local school districts in El Dorado County, as well as to students enrolled in our county-operated regional programs. Together, our team of 36 full and part-time SLPs team works collaboratively to meet the diverse needs of student with mild to moderate and moderate to severe disabilities throughout our county. We are actively recruiting for new team members and have a variety of opportunities that range from preschool through young adult. Come and work in one of the most beautiful counties in California! Assignment locations vary and many assignments are located within 10 minutes of the Sacramento County line.
Job Requirements: - Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential OR - Master's degree in communicative disorders, basic skills requirement and valid license from the Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Board OR - Clinical or Rehabilitative Services - Language, Speech & Hearing Credential Signing Bonus for new ECTA bargaining unit members (pro-rated for less than full time): - 1st year - $5,000 - 2nd year - $5,000 (Bonus given at completion of year one and year 2) STIPEND: Master's degree - $1,200 annually for new hires * For new hires, year-for-year salary credit will be given for prior years of experience, which may include non-credentialed work experience that required licensure in a P-12 setting. Newly hired SLPs will be placed no lower than step 6 on the salary schedule. Plans and provides language, speech and hearing services to school districts in El Dorado County and to the County Office of Education. Services may include consultation and direct therapy with students having mild to severe language disabilities as well as working with school staff, families and related personnel.
