K-5 CERTIFICATED TEACHER RESOURCE (CTR)

 

BASIC FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

 

Under the direct supervision of the teacher, the successful candidate will assist in the academic program of TK -5th grade students, and assist in the operations of the storefront resource center. Certificated Teacher Resource Associates are a key part of our team of education professionals. They are role models for our students, and are expected to look, act, and speak, as representatives of the school at all times. 

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

 

This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but are intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements.

 

  • Assist teacher in maintaining required accountability paperwork: student work records, student work samples and portfolio files; student hours on site; formative assessments; SIS grade inputs; intake paperwork and documentation; withdrawal paperwork.
  • Distribute, collect and submit permission slips for field trips from your resource center; be responsible for turning in the sign in sheet.  Reference the Field Trip plan for requirements. Attend field trips.
  • Assist teacher with Assessment preparation and supervision.
  • Monitor growth through formative assessments; assist teacher in providing materials based on assessment results
  • Assist in developing lessons for personalized assignments.
  • Assist teacher(s) as needed with enrichment class preparation and delivery of instruction. May be asked to sub for teachers during teacher absence.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings or professional development opportunities throughout the school year.
  • Review and update instructional materials.
  • Assist teacher with home visits.
  • Review marketing materials and posters in the resource center (remove items in question).
  • Develop a monthly resource center calendar.
  • Help support students while the teacher is in a meeting or attending training (see enrichment class info above).
  • Tutoring students in core curriculum areas:

Small groups of students or one-on-one.

Utilize differentiation strategies.

Instructional Technology (Apple TV, Click Share, iPads, Apps):  incorporate technology into academic enrichment sessions; include student use of technology.

  • Monitor student work for needed reteach.
  • Partner with teachers at the RC on weekly basis to post fliers and make connections within the community.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized learning environment for students
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Possess excellent organization skills, time management skills, and record keeping skills.
  • Preferably have experience working with elementary and specialized student populations.
  • Have completed a minimum of two years of college course work from an accredited college or university (48 semester units)

Qualifications include 30 day Substitute Permit. Valid California driver license and transportation required.
