The School Secretary III will be working with the founding principal to open a new high school scheduled to open August 2022.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of an assigned High School Principal, organize, coordinate, schedule and perform secretarial, clerical and routine administrative duties with significant independence to assist the Principal; assure proper and efficient operations of the office; serve as secretary to the Principal and coordinate communications between the Principal and other High School support staff, District Office and site personnel, parents, students and general public. Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in business, secretarial science, or a related field, and three years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical office experience involving public contact. Candidate must be proficient using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), as well as Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, etc.). This position requires typing at 60 wpm. Some positions in this classification may be required to take and accurately transcribe dictation at 90 words per minute. Candidate must have knowledge of organization, rules, regulations, and programs related to school offices, and must also have familiarity with school office terminology, practices, and procedures. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential. Good interpersonal communication, problem-solving and customer service skills are needed. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
