KEPPEL UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE - TECHNOLOGY DEFINITION Under the immediate supervision of the Site Administrator, to coordinate a wide variety of technology at the school site, including computer labs and classroom technology; provides instruction and support for hardware operation and software applications for students; and to do other work as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES 1. Works with Site Administrator, certificated staff, and curriculum department to integrate educational software/programs with grade level subject matter objectives; 2. Prepares computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and other educational technology devices for student use; 3. Aids students by conducting a variety of computer literacy instructional exercises, and by presenting various instructional materials designed to enhance the learning process; 4. Prepares and assists in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for use with individuals, or small groups of students; 5. Provides input to technology projects to enhance learning at the school site; 6. May assist/provide training to students on the use of technology; 7. Assists teachers in monitoring students and makes adjustments in the computer programs as requested; 8. Works in conjunction with Technology Services department to ensure efficient operation of technology equipment and programs; 9. Coordinates the computer lab and mobile device(s) schedules; 10. Performs routine and preventative maintenance of instructional computer equipment (i.e., dusting, cleaning), and distribution and return of computer and tablet carts each day; 11. Reports damage or loss of technology equipment to Site Administrator and Technology Services department; 12. Actively participates in training/professional development throughout the school year; 13. Maintains a variety of records including, but not limited to, inventories of computer hardware and software; 14. Performs other related

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Basic computer operating systems;
Technology used in the classroom and computer lab;
Computer hardware and software;
Basic troubleshooting ability and basic fix-it skills;
Basic recordkeeping techniques;
Appropriate English usage, grammar, and vocabulary
Ability to:
Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships;
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Work independently with little or minimal direction;
Organize and prioritize work;
Deal effectively with situations requiring diplomacy, tact, and discretion, and maintain confidentiality of work;
Routinely and correctly lift and carry weights up to, but not to exceed, 60 pounds
Experience:
One year of paid or volunteer experience work with multi-age groups of children;
Supplemental training or coursework in computer instruction, instructional technology, and subject matter areas applicable to the assignment, preferred
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
