Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is currently recruiting to fill an Audiologist position that will work for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE). The expected start date is July 1, 2021. The North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) is made up of 14 school districts in the north coastal area of San Diego County: Bonsall Unified, Cardiff, Carlsbad Unified, Del Mar Union, Encinitas Union, Fallbrook Union Elementary, Fallbrook Union High, Oceanside Unified, Rancho Santa Fe, San Dieguito Union High, San Marcos Unified, Solana Beach, Vallecitos and Vista Unified.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the general direction of the SELPA Director or designee, serves as an Educational Audiologist to school districts by completing hearing evaluations and related reports; assisting students with hearing impairments with amplification and auditory skills; and consulting with staff regarding auditory skills, issues, and instructional accommodations and methods. The Audiologist will serve children through young adults; from age three (3) years to age twenty-two (22) years. This position requires a Master’s degree or higher in Audiology from an accredited college or university, as well as experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team performing assessments, interpreting audiological evaluations, writing intervention plans, and providing family/staff consultation. Doctoral degree in Audiology preferred. Candidates must possess a valid CA Clinical or Rehabilitative Services - Audiology credential; or valid CA Speech-Language Pathology Services credential with added Audiology authorization

A stipend of $4,500, paid out after three (3) years of consecutive full-time service, shall be paid to unit members hired on or after July 1, 2018, who hold state certification and are employed as Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Visually-Impaired. The stipend will be paid out at the completion of the third instructional year. Please note that your completed online application must include all of the required supplemental documentation.
