Job Purpose Statement/s
Under direction of the Director of Information Services and Technology or designated supervisor, the Information Services Technology Aide provides technical assistance and support for all classroom technology in the District at the site level to ensure minimal down time and optimal productivity.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides entry-level trouble-shooting, technical support and maintenance for district-issued classroom technology devices, including printers, projectors, sound systems, Windows devices, Apple devices and Chrome devices.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with classroom staff and the Information Services (IS) Department to help solve problems with classroom.
- Liaisons between classroom staff and IS Technicians for advanced troubleshooting or coordinating service of classroom technology.
- Assists IS Department over the summer with preparing 8th grade 1:1 Take-home Chromebooks collected at the end of the school for redeployment at the beginning of the school.
- Assists IS Department over the summer with preparing new 6th grade 1:1 Take-home Chromebooks for deployment at the beginning of the school.
- Assists IS Department through the summer by assessing readiness of classroom technology for the beginning of the school.
- Maintains accurate inventory records at assigned schools of all district-issued classroom technology.
- Assists IS Department with summer projects as needed.
- Performs a variety of routine tasks as assigned.
- Related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Principles and practices of customer service.
- Basic principles and practices of hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Recent developments and trends in computer hardware and software (Mac and PC), web based applications, and educational technology.
- Mac, Windows, and Chrome operating systems.
- Microsoft Office 2007-2016, Google G-Suite, and related email applications (Mac and PC editions).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements: • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing technology support duties preferably in an educational setting.

The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 9,000 children. The District employs approximately 1,075 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
