Job Description: The Presentation School, in the heart of beautiful Sonoma, CA, is in search of an enthusiastic life-long learner to fulfill the position of full-time middle school teacher. Honored with the task of educating young people, the ideal candidate will become an enthusiastic supporter of the school’s values and mission. The ideal candidate is inclusive to all and will support the continued growth of a positive and strong community spirit. Main Responsibilities: Teach one section of advanced 7th grade Pre-Algebra math; Teach small group pull-out math in 5th and 6th grade; Work with the Middle School Math Team to carry out the academic program: curriculum development and implementation, classroom management, student assessment, and parent communication Attend and participate in in-service meetings, parent-teacher conferences, professional development days and other school functions, as requested Participate in professional development opportunities and keep current on educational issues and trends Mission Statement: The Presentation School, an independent school guided by Catholic values, challenges its students to be active learners reaching their individual potentials with an integrated curriculum and small class size. The Presentation School is an independent school based upon and guided by Catholic values. The K-8 school provides an integrated curriculum, emphasizing high expectations, active learning, and the arts. Within our small class environment, students are challenged to reach their individual potential.
The Presentation School is currently accepting applications for the Upper School, Grades 6-8. In addition to a multiple subject credential, a math and/or science emphasis is highly desirable.

Education Requirements: Previous experience teaching in the middle school setting. Undergraduate required or graduate degree preferred. Qualifications and Skills: Warm, enthusiastic educator who can support middle school learners in appropriately exploring each child’s individual gifts and talents. Teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting A love for teaching and one who demonstrates humility and a commitment to collaboration, personal growth, and the school’s success. Strong verbal and written communication Collaborative, Growth mindset Knowledge of 21st century skills and competency in technology as a teaching aid Additional skills, talents, and experience to enrich our independent school community such as extracurricular clubs, coaching, advising, and field trip supervision experience. A distinguished sense of decorum and discretion when interacting with all community members.
