***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PURPOSE OF THIS RECRUITMENT IS TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST*** Community: World-famous attractions District: Award-winning schools Health Benefits: 100% employer contribution towards employee and family premiums BASIC FUNCTION Under the direction of an administrator, performs a variety of financial record-keeping activities in the areas of accounts payable and other assigned accounts; performs related duties as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is the journey level class of the Accounting series. Incumbents initially perform the more routine duties assigned to the positions in this series and work under close supervision. However, as experience is gained, incumbents are expected to perform the full range of duties with increasing independence. This class is distinguished from the Senior Accounting Technician in that the latter is assigned the highly complex technical accounting duties for a functional area of responsibility such as ASB, bank deposits, reimbursements, categorical claims, journal entries, revolving checks etc., and provide technical and functional responsibility for other accounting technical personnel. This class is further distinguished from the ASB Account Technician in that the latter performs a variety of basic accounting functions in the management of ASB accounts. This is a broad classification with individual positions assigned to specific functional areas (i.e. nutrition services, or accounting department); duties and assignments may overlap depending on the operational needs of the department and staffing levels.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of experience, education and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical combination would be the following: EDUCATION: Graduation from high school; college level course-work in accounting or bookkeeping; specialized training in bookkeeping, financial record-keeping or a related field. EXPERIENCE: Three years of accounting experience.
