The APE Specialist will provide education instruction resulting in greater independence for students with challenging behaviors and identified adaptive physical education needs. Duties include writing Individualized Education Plans, developing adaptive physical education programs, delivering instruction and reporting on student progress. Position details: MANDATORY CALIFORNIA CERTIFICATION IN ADAPTIVE P.E. or California PE Teacher eligible for a waiver. Familiarity with a variety of adaptive physical education assessment tools and equipment. Two years classroom experience working with individuals with severe disabilities and three years experience with person with challenging behaviors in a behavioral training program preferred. Experience with data guided instruction in a collaborative service delivery model.
