Ref. 337 TITLE: Lead, Carpenter REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Buildings and Grounds CLASSIFICATION: Classified FLSA: Non-Exempt WORK YEAR/HOURS 261 days/8.0 hours (FT) or as assigned ISSUED: Created: May 2010 SALARY GRADE: B&GR 26 BASIC FUNCTION: Perform skilled journey-level rough and finish carpentry work in the alteration, renovation, repair, and construction of District facilities. Provide work direction and guidance to carpentry personnel. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. E = Essential Functions Estimate projects in terms of time, labor, and materials. E Collect data to support cost estimates for repair projects and submit to supervisor. E Order and purchase materials according to established District procedures. E Maintain records and logs related to time and materials utilized. E Assist in establishing preventive maintenance schedules; recommend priorities of repair projects. E Construct and repair all types of equipment and wooden fixtures. E Operate all woodwork equipment, powered and non-powered. E Anchor and secure computers, monitors, copiers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, other equipment, and machinery as required. E Repair cafeteria tables, benches, service carts, and other related equipment. E Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
