The Licensed Vocational Nurse will be paid on the Paraeducator Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 42.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of training, experience and/or education equivalent to an accredited vocational nursing program and California license as a Vocational Nurse. Experience using suctioning and tube feeding equipment is required; experience in pediatrics or student health clinics is highly desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians, including requirement for administration of prescribed medication. Possession of basic first aid certification issued by an authorized agency. (On-line certificates will not be accepted.) Possession of current infant, child and adult cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification issued by an authorized agency. (On-line certificates will not be accepted.) Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Foreign Equivalency Certification: Individuals who have completed high school or college-level coursework at an institution in a country other than the United States must provide a Foreign Equivalency Certification to satisfy the education requirement. A Foreign Equivalency Certification can be obtained for a fee from a professional organization that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
