Job Summary

Job Summary

The Guidance Technician supports high school records and high school student data. Guidance Technicians work collaboratively with the counselors, the Records Department, and with the Enrollment Department to ensure that student data remains accurate. The primary role of the Guidance Technician is to enter transcripts into the Student Information System. They also take various other projects provided by the High School Director to ensure that high school records remain accurate and organized. Duties and Responsibilities: - Evaluate incoming transcripts for accuracy. - Enter transcripts into the Student Information System. - Track whether transcripts are missing, unofficial, or official. - Maintain detailed notes on high school student transcripts. - Collaborate with the Records Department with transcript requests. - Collaborate with the Enrollment Department on new student enrollments. - Support the Counseling Department with student records and information. - Maintain accurate high school data in the Student Information System by performing in tasks which include, but are not limited to: tagging students, adding transcript modifiers, updating intended graduation dates, checking Algebra completion, checking student legal names. - Import high school report cards onto the transcript and check grades for errors. - Take on additional high school data projects as assigned by the High School Director. - Communicate with students, parents, and internal and external professionals within established timelines. - Other duties as assigned by administration based on school and student need.

Requirements / Qualifications

- Computer literacy with student information systems is preferred - Successful and relevant experience in K-12 school setting - Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment - Comfortable with online tools including Google Drive, Zoom, Excel, etc. - Comfortable with online/virtual meeting platforms including Google Hangouts, Blackboard, Zoom, etc. - Ability to be proactive and innovative - Possess a College Degree or higher from an accredited college or university - Ability to sit for extended periods of time, work in an office environment, walk, bend, stoop, lift up to 25lbs, work on a computer for extended periods.
