Must be able to provide instruction in either Spanish or Cantonese according to the job description. POSITION TITLE: BILINGUAL ELEMENTARY TEACHER PRIMARY LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION (SPANISH) (CANTONESE) QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: 1. Appropriate California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the above grade and/or subject. 2. Must possess, or be able to obtain a bilingual credential, BBC/BCLAD certification (Bilingual Crosscultural Language Academic Development), or be willing to participate in an appropriate program leading toward and obtaining the designated BCC/BCLAD certification. 3. Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic setting. 4. Experience teaching as a team. 5. Knowledge of literacy strategies. Desirable: 1. Successful teaching experience at the elementary level. 2. Knowledge of standards-based instructional strategies. 3. Willingness to participate in grade level team collaboration. 4. Knowledge of techniques for differentiated instructions. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS: Work Year and Salary: 10-month position (185 days) Appropriate placement on the Regular Teachers’ Salary schedule (depending on experience and education)
