BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an administrator, the Human Resources Assistant supports the department by performing a variety of specialized and detailed professional-level work. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Incumbents in the Human Resources Assistant classification perform specialized personnel tasks at the paraprofessional level. They may provide lead direction to office support staff and make decisions of moderate impact and consequence within predetermined guidelines.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: (1) High school graduation or equivalent (2) Twenty-four college level semester units, from an accredited college or university in human resources management, business administration, psychology or related field (3) Four years of progressively responsible human resources or related experience. Experience in a public sector or educational environment preferred • One (1) additional year of experience may be substituted for the required twenty-four (24) college level semester units • Additional related education may be substituted on a year for year basis for a maximum of two (2) years of experience
