This posting will be used to create an eligibility pool. This pool will be used for current and future openings. The El Dorado County Office of Education, a recognized leader in providing high-quality alternative educational programs, is looking for talented individuals to join our team as an Instructional Strategist. These are full-time teaching positions for our Charter College & Career Prep program beginning with the 2019-20 school year. The CCP program serves students 7-12th grade who may not have been successful in a traditional school setting, including at risk or expelled students. We are a hybrid Community School/Charter School that engages students with hands on instruction in the areas of Language Arts, Math, and STEM courses. The majority of students enroll because of the quality of our alternative program since we provide a rich curriculum that centers on engaging students with applied learning opportunities in a supportive, structured environment. Our staff and students enjoy small class sizes and cutting edge technology in a state-of-the-art facility and are given the necessary materials and support to take learning beyond the classroom. We are experiencing great success in helping our learners realize their potential in all areas, including success in college and career. Our school is located on the El Dorado County Office of Education campus in Placerville. We normally serve between 100 - 150 students, but we are growing due to our success in meeting the educational needs of alternative students. Our modern, state of the art facility features 10 classrooms rich with instructional technology and hands-on learning opportunities, including Maker Space, Culinary Arts, Robotics, Wilderness Adventure, Art, and a Drone Operator’s course. Qualifications: - Valid CA Teaching Credential (Single Subject or Multiple Subject) - Experience working with high risk students preferred. - Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals with varied educational and cultural backgrounds, give direction to support personnel, evaluate performance. - Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, innovative instructional strategies and class room management techniques preferred.
