ADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS:
Directly responsible to the Principal.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
The Classroom Teacher assumes the responsibility to provide learning experiences in various curriculum subjects as prescribed by law, either in combination or separately according to the needs of each class. May initiate appropriate learning experiences based on the needs of the class.
•Participate in staff meetings and in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school of assignment and/or on a District level during the normal working day and is receptive to new methods of education experiences. E
•Maintain good public relations with those involved in educating the student. E
•Supervise out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day as assigned; provide for equal distribution of work load. E
•Select and requisition books, instructional aids and supplies, and maintain required inventory records. E
•Plan and coordinate the work of aides, teacher assistants and other non-professionals during the regular school day. E
•Administers and record group standardized tests as mandated by the District. E
•Create with the students a motivational and functional learning environment. E
•Establish and maintain standards of behavior and teacher-pupil relationships which encourage independence and self-control. E
•Maintain appropriate records, report cards, tests, cumulative records and attendance. E
•Plan and organize lessons to meet the needs of the individual student including plans for the sub-teacher. E
•Identify special needs and problems and refer those children for testing and special programs, or transfer to more appropriate class. E
•Communicate with parents through a variety of means and holds parent conferences. E
•Maintain on-going evaluation of student’s individual academic, social and emotional growth. E
•Maintain open and effective communication with other staff members and administrators; request staff or grade level meeting as assigned. E
•Develop a program for training in perceptual skills utilizing identified and provided materials. E
•Work toward the development of a positive self-image in the children.
•Provide opportunity for the student to develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline and citizenship and to develop creative expression.
•Provide opportunity for the student to develop patriotism.
•Encourage the development of good study habits.
•Comply with Education Code provisions and board Rules and Regulations.
•Assure a comfortable room environment through control of heating, lighting and ventilation to the extent possible.
•Learn administrative organization as established by the Principal.
•Perform related duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENT:
•Valid California Elementary Teaching Credential
WORKING CONDITIONS:

School classroom work environment; subject to interruptions from classroom activities
•PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Seeing to monitor student classroom activities, hearing and speaking to exchange information and provide instruction, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate instructional equipment, and bending at the waist to assist students.

Applicants must have a Current and valid California Single Subject credential authorizing service as an IT Resource teacher (i.e. Industrial and Technology or Mathematics authorization). Master's degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years experience in public schools as a classroom teacher in general or special education setting.
