Under general supervision of the Learning Center Coordinator, this teacher will serve as a our Math Intervention Teacher for students in grades K-8. You will create a flexible program that is aligned with our philosophies of whole child learning.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate math intervention services
Perform assessments of students
Utilize the results of local and state assessments to determine instruction and intervention needs of students
Provide small group and 1-1 intervention using the school's provided curriculum in order to accelerate mathematical learning.
Track student progress using data, and provide ongoing support to teachers and students in support of the school's overall math program.
Co-plan with classroom teachers.
Diagnose the Math needs/abilities of students and select or develop the appropriate materials and use appropriate instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students.
Stay up to date on developments on assessments, curriculum, and instruction
Develop lesson plans and appropriate instructional aides to support student learning
Establish and maintain high expectations for student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment inside of our whole-child framework
Instruct students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or abuse.
Evaluate student performance and growth and prepares progress reports.
Hold parent conferences when necessary to discuss individual student progress
Collaborate with teachers and staff to build a positive, effective school-wide learning environment.
Communicate with parents, Learning Center Coordinator, administrators, and counselors on student progress.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a 50% part-time position that has the capacity to be somewhat flexible.
