NYU Steinhardt’s Teacher Residency combines the comprehensive instruction of a master of arts in teaching from a world-renowned research university with deep partnerships in schools across the country. While immersed in a school community, you are surrounded by multiple layers of support from your fellow resident teachers, in-school mentor teachers, and Steinhardt faculty. With this full-time paid residency, you get the practical preparation you need to serve all students, create inclusive and supportive classroom environments, and become an integral part of the community. Immersed in the classroom in one of our partner schools for a full academic year, you will gradually take on more responsibility, providing you an opportunity to connect learning theory with practice and build confidence in your teaching.
