Job Summary

Job Summary

This Educational Diagnostician position is located at the Richardson Center in Bakersfield, CA. The Infant Development Program is part of division of Special Education-Assessment and Support Services. A valid Special Education or Service credential is required. This position will provide assessments that identify students’ eligibility for special education services and levels of skill development. They will select and/or develop diagnostic teaching materials and skill assessment instruments and will work with parents. This person will act as a chairperson of IFSP/IEP Team meetings and will obtain permission for appropriate diagnostic testing when appropriate or requested. This position provides consultant services, resource information and material regarding individuals with exceptional needs.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: • Special Education credential(s) or Service Credential. • Master’s Degree preferred. Experience: • Three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience in one of the four major special education classification areas. • Experience with a variety of diagnostic educational assessment instruments. • Successful regular classroom teaching experience desirable. Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
