Job Summary
As a substitute teacher you will be responsible for providing instruction to San José Unified students in a classroom setting. With 41 school sites and programs from preschool through post-secondary, we have a variety of opportunities for you to support student learning.
Requirements / Qualifications
Who you are: A reliable, collaborative professional with strong communication skills who is committed to supporting student learning. What you bring: 1. Resume 2. Valid Substitute Teaching Permit or California Teaching Credential 3. TB Screening Result that has been administered and read within 60 days of application submission (screenings beyond 60 days will be accepted with a document verifying that you are/were working with students within 60 days of your application submission)
Compensation: We have a variety of roles and opportunities available for you: Early Bird Program that pays $200/day for substitutes who accept a job in advance and are assigned to a site by HR the morning of the job. Rewarding our most active substitutes with an extra day of pay at the $200 rate for every 30 full days worked. This check will be paid at the end of each semester. Your count of days worked restarts each school year. Premium rate of $200/day for credentialed substitutes who commit to and cover leaves over 30 days. Specialized rate of $150/day that is pre-approved for specific, difficult-to-fill roles, as well as long-term leaves. Base rate of $135/day for standard assignments.
