JOB SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Director of Special Education and site principal, provide directed learning experiences in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains, daily living skills and vocational training for severely handicapped students in an Elementary, Middle School or Secondary School setting. Develop IEPs to establish goals and objectives commensurate with students' ability and achievement. Oversee support services to students; supervise instructional assistants, perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. California Credential, authorizing teaching to the Severely Handicapped with EL Authorization.
2. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
3. Previous experiece teaching in the same discipline.
4. Knowledge of instructional techniques and strategies appropriate to the curriculum; state frameworks; district approved curriculum, board/distict policies and procedures; current and relev
5. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
6. Ability to establish anf maintain behavior expectancies; prepare clear and concise reports and records, operate a computer and have experience with student information systems.
7. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents, students, staff, and administration.
