EDUCATION: Possession of one of the following Single Subject Credential: Business, Industrial and Technology Education, or Mathematics, or a Supplemental Authorization in: Computer Science, Introductory Business, or Introductory Computer Science and English Learner Authorization. Knowledge of Google applications, and familiarity with robotics and coding languages desired. Will consider applicants currently enrolled in an approved credential program at an accredited college or university and eligible for an internship credential. Desired qualifications: Knowledge of inquiry based learning methods. The ability to incorporate investigative problem solving and collaborative research into lessons. Possess the ability to team teach, collaboratively plan, and teach students the attributes of being a global citizen. Possess the ability to use learning targets for guiding and assessing students. Demonstrate the ability to use differentiated instruction to address the strengths and needs of diverse learners. ASSIGNMENT: 10 month position, 185 work days, 2018-2019 school year. STEAM Academy @ Burke Middle School 7-8th Grade

      El Rancho Unified School District may allow a maximum of 12 years out-of-district experience towards placement on the salary schedule. We are committed to providing an enriched curriculum with high expectations for all students which emphasizes the skills, concepts and processes necessary for the technological and cultural challenges of the 21st century. The District provides a variety of educational programs suitable to the needs of a Multi-ethnic and varied Socio-economic community including a large Hispanic enrollment of ninety percent. The STEAM Academy @ Burke offers students a unique educational program designed to engage students in the learning process and help them develop the necessary skills to be college and career ready. Students are offered a wide range of electives that fall under the broad umbrella of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Students tackle middle school concepts while incorporating the four (4) Cs of 21st Century learning: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity Our magnet program supports and supplements the Common Core curriculum, providing a common lens through which children master knowledge while interdisciplinary teaching enables students to make important and long lasting connections across content areas. Teachers work in teams to design and develop lessons using the Project Based Learning teaching method. The District is located in the City of Pico Rivera, which is conveniently located off the 605 and 5 freeways. We are a short drive from both beaches and mountain areas and are located next to the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
