Substitute teachers or guest teachers serve in the absence of a regular contracted teacher. Being a substitute teacher is also a great way for individuals who are working toward a degree in education to gain valuable classroom experience.
Guest teachers must have earned a minimum of 60 college credits and are required by the State of Nevada to hold a valid Substitute Teaching license.

A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required to qualify to be a Support Staff Substitute and a minimum of 60 college credits including a Substitute Teaching license.
Official High School transcripts must be submitted to Substitute Services at the time of application.
A Diploma may also be accepted as long as it is the original. Copies will be made and originals returned.
All substitutes must work two days each month to maintain an active status with Substitute Services. Failure to work the required days could result in dismissal. Exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
