POSITION DESCRIPTION: The job of Instructional Assistant, Alternative Education (Title I) is done for the purpose(s) of providing intensive intervention support services, providing academic remediation lessons/activities, maintaining a safe classroom environment with at-risk students, documenting and/or providing academic/behavioral assessment data that may be used in a court of law, ensuring compliance with drug/alcohol programs, assisting with weapon/drug searches, and processing new students in accordance with Alternative Education requirements. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Job related experience is desired.(Relevant job experience is a prerequisite for permanent positions, but may not be mandatory for substitute roles.) REQUIRED EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED TESTING: Once this position closes, your application will be screened for minimum qualifications. Those who meet the minimum qualifications will be e-mailed an invitation for testing. **Applicants with 48 or more eligible semester units from an accredited college or university may be able to forego testing by attaching transcripts for verification to their online EdJoin application prior to the position closing date/time. Copies of diplomas will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts**.
