POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals for full-time Mental Health Counseling Specialist positions to coordinate and provide professional mental health services including individual, group and family therapy, clinical assessments and consultative services to students, parents and District personnel in both the homes of students and at school sites. This career opportunity is a 8-hour/day, 9.75month/year position with paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and District paid life insurance for the employee. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Clinical Psychologist (LCP) or a field closely related to the knowledge and abilities required of this classification from an institute of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation is required. Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in providing therapeutic mental health services to children and/or adolescents in a school and/or clinical setting, is required. Nine (9) months of providing therapeutic mental health services in a school setting experience is required. Licenses: *A License with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or a Clinical Psychology License through the California Board of Psychology is required. *Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and the ability to travel between job sites and different work locations (e.g., student homes) is required. Applicants MUST attach a copy of their license and degree to their application.

RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. Recruitment examinations may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation and structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Human Resources Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
