Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services and assigned Coordinator, plan, develop, and deliver lessons to instruct and assess students in Mental and Behavioral Health career pathway classes as part of a sequenced program of study. Operate and maintain computers and technical equipment, promote safety and career-ready practices, and prepare students for post-secondary success. Classes will incorporate collaborative problem-solving to apply knowledge and skills to real-world challenges. The instructor will also teach workplace skills, present opportunities related to careers in mental and behavioral health, and help students prepare for industry certifications, internships, college, and careers.

EXPERIENCE: • Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught (Mental or Behavioral Health or related field) are required. • One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Bachelor’s degree desirable. CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: • Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching or Vocational Credential for the subject to be taught is required. • CTEL certification or EL equivalents such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE must be completed during the first year of employment in this position or be part of a University credentialing program of study • Valid California Driver's License is required. • Note: Please provide copies of credentials as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required credentials with your application materials.
