The job of Special Education Aide is for the purpose/s of assisting in the supervision and instruction of Special Education students under the supervision of a certificated teacher in a special education or regular classroom; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and providing clerical support to teacher. Incumbents in this classification provide direct academic support to students and teachers which directly supports learning.

As required for Special Education Aide positions, 48 college credits/hours or an AA degree or higher, or be able to demonstrate college level skills by passing a proficiency exam (Paraeducator Proficiency Exam).

- Other (Paraeducator Proficiency Exam or transcript with 48 units or AA degree or higher)
- Resume
